Llamas can easily be trained to pull carts on their own, in pairs or even as a triple hitch. Carting was not a common use for llamas in their native South America, its only in recent years in North America and Australia that llamas pulling carts have began to appear on the scene.

There are many uses for llama carting some of which include weddings, parades, santa appearances, shows, charity days, carrying hay and farm equipment or just for fun. Llamas pulling carts have been clocked at speeds of over forty-five kilometres per hour.
